This listing is for a 5.6mm 2W blue M140 M-type laser diode. Great for DIY projects, engraving, burning and other things that require high power lasers. In order to insure a long lifetime of the laser diode, please do not exceed the ratings on the datasheet provided below. Keeping the diode below the absolute maximum ratings will increase lifetime. Glass lenses are recommended to collimate this laser because of the high output power.

Lasers light is extremely damaging to both eyes and skin. Keep skin away from direct laser light and make sure that no laser light, including reflections, enter the eye by using appropriate laser safety glasses.
This laser diode is very sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Proper precautions must be taken. Each diode is packaged in ESD foam and it's highly recommended to not remove it until you're ready to use it.
Heatsinking is required to run the laser diode at high powers. Running the diode without sufficient heatsinking will cause the optical output power to decrease, and in the worst case the diode will die from overheating.
Using a CC (Constant Current) power supply / driver is highly recommended for operating laser diodes. The forward voltage of the diode changes depending on optical output power and temperature. DO NOT connect the diode directly to a battery.
Each diode is tested with professional lab equipment before shipment to ensure proper functioning and high quality.
