    Description

With the passing of time, these Universal mics are becoming
more scarce and quickly being snapped up by collectors.
    Offering
this 1930's UNIVERSAL "VELOCITY" RIBBON MICROPHONE with vintage desk stand.
The Universal Company Ltd based in
    Inglewood California
manufactured recording devices and microphones in the 1930's. This one has had some restoration and looks/sounds excellent! The original ribbon motor and transformer on this "Velocity" model had been removed, so a
new modern ribbon pickup and transformer
    has been installed delivering
    clean strong output
    with the warm
    fidelity
audio that outperforms the original motor.
The casing overall shows beautifully with nice black enamel
finish...the frontal maker's badge has faded from age and shows some patina around the fringe areas. The original pot-metal yoke was missing so a new hard poly replacement yoke has been fabricated. It also has replacement side thumbscrews and they function perfectly allowing the mic to tilt and hold the angle. The mic head is hard-wired to a short cable ending with a 3 pin male XLR plug.
(We can install a 1/4" male phono plug if you prefer at no charge.)
The mic has the proper threaded adapter so can be mounted to any standard 5/8" thread mic stand. The
    vintage heavy-based
desk stand shown IS ALSO INCLUDE
    D.
This mic is a real showpiece and ready to plug n' play...with stand it measures 14" high.
