Vintage, Extremely RarePEERLESS (MBHO, HAUN) MBC540 CARDIOID CONDENSER MICROPHONE
Extremely rare early 1970s vintage specimen in almost perfect physical and excellent operating condition.
The MBC 540 (PEERLESS) by MBHO/Haun of Germany, these are extremely rare and sought after microphone. hoarded by recording and broadcast Studios.
this microphone has the Factory modification to use console supplied phantom power.
(impossible to find the 15v batteries)
Included in this listing is the almost Never seen anti-vibration shock spider mount, if and when you can find them, they go for over 0 by themselves. All so included is the Factory original standard Mount clip and perfect condition globe Style wind pop filter (no rips, tears) original Factory case, is in good condition with minor wear, internal foam is still in excellent shape (not crumbling). factory original spectrograph chart showing the microphone frequency response from the manufacturer is included. as well as a hand-drawn schematic, from the studio engineer.
Included is the original Tuchel* connector wired to a standard
3-pin XLR.
*Tuchel is a brand name, like Neutrik. Tuchel was the premier supplier of connectors for German mic companies from the '50s to the '80s, until these were phased out as XLR became the worldwide standard.
These microphone performs amazingly well on acoustic guitars , bringing a depth and transparency that I have personally found amazing.
I've also used it to mic snares, symbols and lay down some truly smooth vocal. The likes of which I've never heard from many condensers.
This is one of my favorite recording microphones, but as they say my loss is your gain.
